Hi I'm Shannon smith

I'm a full time missionary serving in Irvine California, I'm enjoying the sun and sharing the gospel :)

About Me

I'm serving in the Irvine mission I have 3 younger siblings, I'm the oldest, and my sister is my best friend, I love going on walks, they help clear your mind. I enjoy the blessings of sharing Heavenly fathers gospel. I enjoy serving here because of the peace it brings me, and the people that Heavenly father put in my path. Missionaries genuinly serve out of a desire to bring others unto Jesus Christ. I enjoy learning about the potential we all have as childeren of God, it's amazing to see what that knowledge can do for people. As childeren of a loving Heavenly father we can do amazing things, I also believe that because God is our loving Heavenly father that every one is our brothers and sisters, and sometimes it's difficult to love everybody, but they are still family! I believe that the family is the most important social unit in the world, and that we can all be with our families, not only for this life, but for the rest of eternity as well. So basically I really love my family, and I am excited for the day I can get married and start a family of my own. :) I love self reliance, or I'm trying to, I'm also trying to learn how to love cleaning, that can be hard on a mission because were always so busy! But cleanliness is next to Godliness, so I'll keep trying!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because that's how I was raised! That's who I am and it's what makes me Shannon! I don't know who I'd be without my savior and with out his wonderful gospel, I'm so grateful for my family, and my friends and loved ones, and I know that I wouldn't have them if God wasn't real, and I am so grateful for that!

How I live my faith

I live it as a missionary, and as an individual. As an individual I'm trying to have a relation ship with Heavenly father and by being obediant. The hardest part about that is waking up at 6:30 in the morning. I have to pray for extra strength on those days, because I'm not a morning person! I'm doing much better though! I also try to set an example as a sister and as a friend.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

You nevery know when your going to hit a bump in the road! You always (or should always) have a spare tire when your on the road right? Well, if an emergency happens you will definitely want to be prepared to feed yourself and your family. If you ever find yourself in anatural disaster, you will be able to have food that has plenty of nutrients and won't need to be regrigerated. If there was a natural disaster then I doubt walmart or target will be open. You should have at least 3 days worth of water in storage and at least 72 hours worth of food on hand. It'll bless your life! Show more Show less
