Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm from Chicago, but grew up in Minnesota. Raised a Mormon, but my own conversion began at 17. I am still a Mormon.

About Me

I love listening to music. Classic rock is my favorite genre and I can't stand modern rock or pop. I love to play tackle football, not soccer. Besides these things, I study history obsessively, especially World War II. I've made plenty of my own mistakes and spend much of my time trying to fix them. I'm currently on a mission to Frankfurt, Germany, and I want to serve at least twenty years in the US Navy.

Why I am a Mormon

Despite being raised as a Mormon, it is my choice to remain one. I never said this was easy. I bear my testimony that He is willing and ready to forgive us our trespasses, that He loves us. I may only be a simple man, but I know that Jesus is my Captain, one I can follow and call my King. All of us have a use in His Kingdom. This I say in His Holy Name, amen.

How I live my faith

I try to teach both the young men and the young women by example. I try to do service every chance I get. As of 8 April, 2015, I am serving a mission to Frankfurt, Germany. It's hard work, but it's worth it.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

If God intends for us to be happy, then why would he separate a husband and wife who love and cherish each other at death and keep them separate throughout the eternities? He loves us and desires our happiness. We cannot live with Him without being married to somebody of opposite gender and sealed in one of his holy temples. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT HOMOSEXUALS ARE BAD PEOPLE! They just made a poor choice. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is an abridgement of multiple books. Mormon, an ancient prophet, was the chief compiler of these books. His son Moroni abridged the Book of Ether and wrote the Book of Moroni, the last of the books within the Book of Mormon. Sixteen hundred years later, Moroni - a resurrected being - led Joseph Smith to their location. Through the power of God, Joseph Smith translated the books into what is now referred to as the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
