Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a daughter, a sister, a wife, mother and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the United States, but have been living in the UK for nearly three years. I met my husband on a Star Wars posting board over a decade before we decided to turn our friendship into a permanent companionship. On my wedding day, I become a step-mother to a wonderful son, and since then we have added a lovely daughter and another charming son to our family. I have a degree in vocal performance, but for now I only use it to sing lullabies to my kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a deep and abiding testimony that this is the church that Christ established on earth, restored by the hand of the prophet Joseph Smith. I believe that this is how God wants me to live my life, and I know in my heart that as I do my best to live by the Gospel's teachings I become a better person and have a more rewarding and fulfilling life. I am a Mormon because I wouldn't want to be anything else. I may have been born into the church, but it is because of my personal conversion and conviction that I stayed in it. This is a church not only of belief but of action. As I live the gospel, my testimony is strengthened by my experiences. It has taught me to love my Savior, and to know that he loves me.

How I live my faith

I teach the teenage girls in our congregation, and try my best to help them become strong women. I help to organise events for them, and help them to complete personal goals. I visit with other women of the church and help them if I can. I read scriptures and say prayers to try and learn what God wants for me and how I can help others. I help my children to say their prayers and we read scriptures and say prayers together as a family. I believe it is important to stay in the home with my children as they are growing to make sure they are properly taught and encouraged.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Amanda
Absolutely. I fully believe that President Thomas S Monson is today's living prophet. I know that as I listen to and follow his teachings I grow closer to my Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
