Hi I'm Todd

I grew up in the small town of Dayton, NV. I served a mission in Milano, Italy. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I live in the middle of 80 acres near Pyramid Lake Nevada. I enjoy spending time with my animals. We have 7 dogs, 2 cats, 15 alpacas, 2 llamas, 1 cow, 1 horse, 2 turkeys, 4 ducks, 45 chickens, 8 goats and 1 guinea fowl. I maintain roughly 4000 sq ft of garden space with my wife and 4 kids. My family is everything to me and spending time with them working our hobby farm is a ton of work but it's totally worth it. My wife is a nurse and I own a small onsite computer repair company. It's not uncommon for my customers to call me in the early morning asking for help with their computer and have them say, "what's that noise?" Then I have to say, "oh nothing, just milking a goat while talking to you on the blue tooth".

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the Mormon church before I was born so I grew up in the church. This however doesn't mean that I didn't have to go through a conversion process. When I was about 17 years old I decided that I needed to read the Book of Mormon and decide for myself if it were true before I went on a mission. I made it a good way into the book, to the story about Abinadi and how he was brought before the wicked king and told that he had to deny Christ should come or he would be put to death by fire. For some reason I assumed that either the king would be converted and save Abinadi or an angel would come and save him. Instead with his dying breath he praised God and prophesied about the death of the wicked king. Then I read this, "And now, when Abinadi had said these words, he fell, having suffered death by fire; yea, having been put to death because he would not deny the commandments of God, having sealed the truth of his words by his death." At that moment I knew because the Spirit of the Lord caused my heart to burn which told me that the Book of Mormon was a true record and that Abinadi really did seal the truth of his words with his death. I have never doubted since that the Book of Mormon is a true record. If the Book of Mormon is true then Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God and he really did translate it from gold plates through the power of God. From there everything else about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ just fits into place.

How I live my faith

Members of the Mormon church are expected to serve in callings which benefit the community as a whole. My current assignment is to be the liaison between the full time missionaries who are currently serving in our area and the local members. Since the full time missionaries leave everything behind except what they can carry in a few suitcases, they are literally living a life of poverty depending on the local members of the church and those who are investigating the church to feed them. One of my responsibilities in this regard is to make sure that the missionaries are fed and have people to whom they can teach the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
