Hi I'm Felicia

I'm soon to be a special education teacher. I love music. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to college to get a degree in special education. I love people with special needs and I feel they are extremely close to our Heavenly Father. I want to spend my life with people who have such incredible spirits. I come from a large family and I'm the oldest of 13 siblings altogether. I love children and want to have a family of my own someday. I am married and my husband and I love to look at funny pictures on the internet in our spare time. Laughter always gets us through the day and through the rough times. I also love music. I feel like music has a special way of connecting with our spirits that words cannot always do on their own. I was part of a choir for nearly all of my grade school and high school years, and I was able to sing both songs of praise and worship to our Heavenly Father and secular songs that had special meaning to many who heard them. Music is a huge part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been a literal lifesaver to me throughout my life. Jesus Christ is my personal Savior and Redeemer, and continuing to follow His gospel allows me to stay close to Him. As a teenager and young adult, I struggled with severe depression. The thoughts and tendencies that came into my mind - of utter worthlessness and doubt - conflicted with the teachings I had learned as a child in the gospel. I had learned that I was a child of a loving Heavenly Father, who knew I had infinite, eternal worth. I learned that I should always have faith in Him. And so, those feelings I had led me to turn to my Savior to relieve the pain I was feeling. My Savior guided me to stay close to Him and to receive the help I needed. By relying on His infinite and eternal Atonement, I was able to gain a firm testimony of its reality, and of the reality of our Heavenly Father and His Son. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He came here to redeem us from not only our sins, but our infirmities as well. I believe that Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to return to Him. I believe that Heavenly Father has provided us the gospel of Jesus Christ so that we can follow the path back to Him. I am a Mormon because I have relied on my Savior and Heavenly Father, and He has, through His Spirit, testified to me that the gospel and the church are real.

How I live my faith

I serve in the leadership for the children's Sunday school group in my ward. I love working with the sweet children in my ward and getting to know their families. Heavenly Father wants all of His children to learn of His gospel and know they are one of His beloved children. In addition I visit two sisters each month to share a gospel message and ask them about their needs and struggles, and help where I can. The members of my congregation are almost all college students, or spouses of college students, and so we are going through many of the same trials. Having the visiting teaching program helps us support each other through all these crazy times! I also attend church each Sunday to participate specifically in Sacrament meeting, where I partake of the Sacrament (or Communion) that allows me to fully enjoy the blessings of the Atonement. I also attend my other meetings, including Sunday School and a meeting for the women of my ward, where I am able to learn more about the life and ministry of our Savior and of His servants.
