Hi I'm Brandon

I grew up in Washington State, I love Star Wars and cycling, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I met my wife at BYU-Idaho a little more than 4 and a half years ago. We have been happily married now for three amazing years. She is also from Washington (her from Seattle area and I am from the east side, the brown side). We both studied the same thing here at school, Health Science. We love what we study and can't wait to start our careers! I have always been very active in sports and such, but also I am a HUGE Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, pretty much all the nerdy movies fan. I love them and will never be ashamed. In my spare time I road bike (not motorcyle, but pedal bike), play racquetball with my brother and friends, and make movies for fun and for film festivals with my buddies here at school.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many people who grew up in the church, I went because that is what we did. I always liked church and had friends there, but I knew at some point that I would need to know for my self that it was true. I don't have one of those come to Jesus moments, or a huge spiritual experience that helped me know this was where I needed to be. It all came slowly and periodically. I would have little experiences here and there that would let me know I was doing the right thing and that Heavenly Father was happy with me. When I realized that I really knew it was true, I was preparing for my mission to New Mexico. I kind of looked back at my life and realized that I have a loving Heavenly Father that loves me and throughout my childhood and teenage years I could see how this had to be the truth. On my mission I had many, many experiences that have solidified my knowledge of the truthfulness of this gospel. I am now 25, almost 26 and have a loving a beautiful wife. In our three short years of marriage I have learned more about this gospel than any other time in my life. Having children will quadruple that learning. Heavenly Father wants us to be happy, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to help us on the path back to Him. Christ suffered for us to atone for our sins and our shortcomings. The gospel is simple. God loves us and want us to return to Him. Christ came to help us on that path. And as we live this gospel, we can be truly happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith unashamed like my love for nerdy movies. I have nothing to be ashamed of being a member of this church. I grew up a Mormon. My parents came from families that were fairly recent converts to the Mormon faith. Most of my grandparents that joined the church are still alive and are a great example to me and my siblings and cousins. I want people that I meet to know how much this gospel means to me. It has guided my life thus far in a way that is conducive to true happiness. And I try my best to be an outward example of what that happiness means to me.
