Hi I'm Cherish

I've lived my entire life in the southwestern United States. I love to travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love seeing new places. After graduating from college with a bachelors in geography and travel and tourism studies, I have found a job that allows me to travel and see new places. When I have free time, I enjoy turning down roads I normally pass by, just so I can see a new view of a familiar place. I also adore reading; it probably isn't a good thing that I can access books on my phone, because I read sooo many books! I like fantasy and every day fiction.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace I have felt reading the Book of Mormon and listening to the leaders in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was lucky enough to have the gospel my entire life, but I remember when I first read the Book of Mormon through on my own. It was during the summer before my junior year in high school. As is typical for me (I'm hardly perfect), I had procrastinated reading it. Before I knew what was happening, I had two weeks left of summer and I wasn't close to being done. In addition to my personal goal of reading the Book of Mormon, I still had to begin and finish reading a book on the United Nations, as well as a 10-page research paper, for an AP class that I wanted to take during my junior year. I was stressed, but I decided to continue with my efforts to read the Book of Mormon. I remember that when I would sit and read the Book of Mormon, I felt at peace. My stress dropped away and I knew that I could handle anything put before me. My story is simple, but I am sure many people who have felt stressed over some project can appreciate how wonderful having all the stress disappear to be replaced with a complete sense of peace can be.

How I live my faith

I do my best to be active in my calling. I am currently a visiting teaching supervisor, which means I have a group of ladies that I encourage to be active visiting teachers. The ladies let me know each month what efforts they have made to support the ladies they have been asked to befriend and visit. I love the reach technology gives us with this! I am able to text everyone often to remind them, as well as give advice and share my own successes and failures.
