Hi I'm Tara

I'm a work in progress. I have a whole lot of love in my heart for my husband and two children. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom to two beautiful little girls and a wife to a loving husband. I try to try every day to work on me. Work on becoming better. A better mom- more patient, more kind, more soft spoken, more fun and playful. A better wife- kinder, more thoughtful, less selfish, making life more about him and less about me. I love to exercise. It keeps me sane. I love fashion. I love to lay on the couch and watch T.V. and eat junk food. I love the sun. I love yard work (gasp! It's true!). I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. And I love His gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I like to be happy. I know that happiness is achieved when founded upon His gospel. This world sometimes seems a wicked, dark place. But life can be beautiful and happy, and full of hope when we know what our purpose in life is. I'm a Mormon because it's easy for me to get lost in this big old world. But by knowing my Redeemer, and founding my life upon Him, as my rock, keeps me from being tossed to and fro with the winds of adversity. Satan and his followers will try and lead you carefully away from what is good and what is right. He does this slowly, with little steps here and there. He will ALWAYS leave you alone in the end. He is the way of the world. Our Savior, our elder brother, is the way of truth and light. HAPPINESS. BEAUTY. GOODNESS. His way is not always easy. There are many sacrifices to be made to follow Him. But His way is the sure way. And one thing I have learned is that salvation is not cheap. It is paid with great sacrifice. But sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven. I know this to be true. I am learning this constantly. It is a sacrifice to get up extra early to make sure you have family scripture study. It's a sacrifice to spend your Saturday night preparing your lesson for church, instead of going out to a movie. Sometimes I feel it a sacrifice to not buy that cute dress that's just a little too short. And sometimes it's really, really hard at work when all of the girls are whispering behind your back about how bizarre Mormons are. But let me say something about sacrifice. When we sacrifice for God, we always get back 10 times the blessings. He never stops blessing us. So, I'm starting to think that maybe some of these things aren't really sacrifices..... Maybe it's more like an investment. God loves us. He loves you. His message is that of love, happiness, purpose, and hope. Who doesn't need hope in a world like this? The gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday in church I teach the ten and eleven year old boys and girls about Jesus Christ. I am a firm believer in Family Home Evenings each week. Family Home Evening is where we gather as a family and learn about a gospel topic, play a game, and have a treat. As a family, we try our best to have family prayers everyday and read scriptures as a family each morning. These are the things that strengthen the family from being destroyed. I'm definitely not perfect at living my faith (who is?), but I rely upon the Atonement of Jesus Christ to change me, and to better me. I try to live my faith in the way I dress. As I said above, I love fashion. As members of the Mormon church, we believe in being modest. Our bodies are like temples to God. They are sacred and respected. Being in style and trendy does not mean you have to flaunt your body in the name of fashion. I live my faith by dressing modestly and keeping it pure. I live my faith by remaining chaste and staying committed to my husband. I live my faith by teaching my two daughters, that they are daughters of God, and that they have a divine destiny and purpose as His heirs.
