Hi I'm Phoebe

I am addicted to cookbooks. I will happily bake a cake at any given time. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life began when I met the man of my dreams 15 years ago. We quickly had three children in three years when I chose to quit teaching school and become a full time homemaker. I was shocked at how isolated and lonely I sometimes felt with little ones constantly tugging at me. I was needing a creative outlet. With my husband's encouragement and prodding, I soon began taking weekly painting classes. Eventually this led to my true passion: cooking. I have now taken dozens of cooking and baking classes. In California, New York, and Texas I began different gourmet dinner clubs with dozens of friends. I bake a lot. I bake for groups of 3 to 300 and nothing brings me greater joy than feeding people that I love. I don't claim to be an expert on any of it, just someone who knows what she loves. My full time career is currently raising our children to be nurturing, God-fearing, hard-working, law-abiding citizens but I have found other outlets of personal growth which have helped me develop new talents.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had deeply personal experiences in my life that I could never deny that have occurred. I have felt heaven's warm embrace in my darkest hours. My faith has been my compass to constantly remind me and focus my priorities on the things of lasting importance. I am a Mormon because I know that Heavenly Father lives and loves me and knows my name. I know that the most important event that ever happened on this earth is that Jesus Christ was born in the flesh through a mortal mother and a divine Father. That He suffered and died for me and all of us and because of Him we are all saved and will live again. I am mostly undeserving of His goodness and mercy and grace. I strive daily to learn of Him and follow His teachings. Following Him I am a better wife to my wonderful patient husband. I am a better stepmom to my two beautiful stepdaughters. I am a better mother to my three adorable children.

How I live my faith

Because of my faith, I have accepted different positions in this church that have pushed me to grow and stretch and serve in ways that I would have thought were impossible. I have served in almost every capacity of leadership in various youth and women's organizations. I am always amazed at how heaven works through imperfect, flawed individuals like me. I pray daily alone, and then with my children and husband. We strive to read the scriptures daily as a family. I recognize that God has blessed me abundantly and that I want to share His goodness and love with all of His children.
