Hi I'm Sariah

I grew up in Vancouver, Washington. I want to be a medical examiner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Brigham Young University. I am studying Medical Laboratory Science, and love learning about the world around us, as well as the human body. Other than being a student, I play rugby on the Women's Cougar Rugby team. When I am home from school, I spend my spare time volunteering at a Boy Scout ranch in Oregon, where I ride, train, and care for the horses, and serve in various work projects to keep the ranch functional. I also love music and dance. I grew up with both being a part of my daily life, and I still love to go dancing with my friends whenever I get a chance.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, and have loved it all my life. My name comes from the Book of Mormon, and my mother chose it so that I could be a missionary all my life. As a child I could see the truth in what I was being taught. As a teenager, my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father helped me to get through many hard trials. Jesus Christ has always been the foundation of my testimony. His love for me has been apparent all my life, and reading about Him in the scriptures always brings me comfort. Living the gospel brings me such joy, and I wish that everyone could feel what I feel every day when I read the scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I grew up attending church every Sunday with my family, and it has become such an important part of my life. I enjoy building friendships with other members of the Church. At Brigham Young University, my friends at church are also my neighbors, and I interact with them on a daily basis. Some of the things which I have been involved in at church include family history work and teaching primary children. Family history brings me a lot of joy, especially when I can teach others how to research their ancestors and see the joy that it brings to their lives. I have enjoyed teaching primary children, because you can see in their faces when they understand something you have taught, and I love to see their faces light up with joy when they believe something to be true. I also enjoy teaching the children because I get to sing with them each week. Song is a form of worship which is close to my heart, and singing alongside children brings me joy.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Our Savior Jesus Christ will never leave us alone. The gift of the Holy Ghost is one way that He keeps that promise. When we are baptized, we are also given the gift of the Holy Ghost. This is a promise that we will always have the Spirit as our companion. This is our right as members of Christ's true church. The Holy Ghost will always guide us to make the right choice, and brings us comfort and peace when we do what is right. When we pray to God, He answers us through the Holy Ghost. We can recognize the Spirit as feelings or thoughts of peace, comfort, joy, and love. Show more Show less
