Hi I'm Amy

I love music, shopping, and food. I especially love my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is the most important part of my life. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. They are my best friends. My mother and sister both teach Elementary School. My older brother and Dad are both in the engineering field. My younger brother and I are still trying to decide what we want to do with our lives. I graduated in 2013 with my Associates Degree in Business and Accounting. I worked at a grocery store to pay my way through school. I later worked at an accounting firm for a few months before serving a mission for my church in Alberta, Canada. My decision to go on a mission has changed my life forever. After living in Canada for a year and a half, I have plans to attend Utah State University to continue my education. My life wouldn't be the same without music. I love to sing. I have been in choirs most of my life, and I took vocal lessons for 4 years. I love watching musicals. I also love Disney movies. My favorites are probably Lion King and Mulan. I'm not very athletic, but I love spending time outdoors with friends. My favorite sport is soccer. I also like to go on hikes, especially with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know of the truth of this church. I had my struggles at times, wondering why there were so many silly rules. I came to learn, though, that these warnings keep me happy. I have only learned this because I ignored commandments. As I stopped living the commandments that I knew I should live, I saw my life falling apart. The blessing of peace seemed to leave me completely. I wondered why my life was not going the way that I wanted it to go. I started to seek for answers, angry at the way things were. I then got my answer. The things that I thought were fun and good for me were not. The habits I had formed were not making me a better person. I was not happy. The people who I was spending my time with were not happy people either. I needed to make changes. As I did, I felt that peace and happiness flow back into my life. Living the gospel may seem hard at times, but I have come to know that it is nothing compared to how hard it is to not live it. My happiness is connected with choosing to live righteously. All happiness is connected to righteousness

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my actions. I pray several times a day, anytime I need extra strength. Prayer helps me to remember that I am never alone, and it helps me to find happiness in almost every situation. There are tough things that come, but I know that I have someone listening to me at all times. I also read my scriptures daily. The words of the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Latter-day prophets help me to come closer to Christ and remember who I am. As I have done these things, I have found joy in my life that I did not know I could find. I live a normal life. I do the things that I need to have done. I just add upon these things with prayer and scripture study. When I do, it adds to my life the blessings that come from faith.
