Hi I'm Lisha Mortensen

I'm a swimmer. I love the outdoors. I'm currently a missionary serving near Macon, Georgia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the great state of Utah. Living there established my love for hiking and exploring. I love to take photographs, especially of wildlife. I have been going to school at BYU but am taking a year and a half to serve a mission in the great state of Georgia! I have the greatest family in the whole world and I love spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

Belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has has brought so much joy, peace, and direction in my life. I know where I came from, what my purpose is, and where I am going. God loves me and knows me personally and is directly involved in my life. And although it may be unfathomable, he loves every single person who has ever lived. This means that he loves you! Yes, YOU! He cares about you and wants to hear from you. Pray to him about your day. Let him know what your worries are, what you are excited about, what your goals and dreams are. He is there to listen. And by turning to him, you will begin to see miracles, albeit small ones and in ways you would never had thought, happen in your life. The church is led by the prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, who is the mouthpiece for God. He knows what God is trying to tell us and gives us the direction that is so needed in this confusing world. Direction also comes from The Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is a book of scripture, like the Bible, that talks about Christ's visiting the people in the Americas. It was written by prophets directed by God. One of the reasons I am serving a mission is to share this message – that in this dark and scary world, there still is hope and light to be found. It is found in Jesus Christ, our redeemer, brother, and friend. No matter how confused, discouraged, or sad you are, Jesus Christ has felt what you have felt - He has felt It! and will be there to guide, comfort, and uplift. I have found this peace in my life. When I was lost and confused, I found guidance. When I was overwhelmed and discouraged, thinking there was no way to accomplish the tasks ahead of me, I found a way when all felt lost. When I was feeling alone or sad, I was comforted and knew everything would be okay. I know that if you turn to him, you too can find what I have found. Christ loves you so much that he will always be there for you.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a friend, serving others around me, and by standing up for and sharing what I believe.
