Hi I'm Brandon Rottler

I was born and raised in Utah. I am a member of the United States Army Reserve and I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and I graduated basic training in November of 2013. I love making things. All kinds of things, everything from paracord bracelets and belts, jewelry of all kinds and even things as strange as making giant bicycles as tall as ten feet high. I search for strange things to do, I learn how to do anything that catches my eye, riding unicycles, learning how to crack a whip, or how to make chain mail. I love the outdoors. hiking, biking, skiing and climbing; canoeing, fishing and even white water rafting. I love trying new things, whether that is food or an activity I've never heard of. I have a knack for languages, I speak English as my native language, but I also know German and American Sign Language. I have interpreted several plays for my local high school for the deaf. I am in the process of learning Finnish, one of the hardest languages in the world, to prepare myself to serve a full time LDS mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this gospel, I have loved it from the start, i have learned that as I stay righteous and follow the teachings of Christ and my Prophet, I am blessed more than I could have imagined. This church has been such a strength for me during hard times, when I was in basic training for the Army, I was pushed and challenged to my limits, but through it all i knew i could rely on my savior and I learned the true power of prayer. whenever I was down or frustrated, I knew I could pray, and when I did I felt his comfort and his love, making everything not as bad. I saw people all around me struggling to deal with the constant stress that is put on you, whereas I could be comforted each time I prayed or when I read the scriptures. I am a Mormon because I have felt the spirit attest to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church and that I can rely on it whenever I am troubled.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week and partake of the sacrament. I attend the classes afterward to enrich my understanding of the gospel. I go to a temple of the lord as often as possible, and I can feel the spirit each time I do each of those things. I have been called to do many things for the church, I have been called to attend the special needs mutual and help individuals with their disabilities once a week, which I did for a year. I have grown by following the examples of my church leaders and obeying the gospel principles. I have been called to serve a two year mission to teach the word of the lord to the people of Helsinki, Finland!
