Hi I'm Zan

I'm a mom, a wife, and a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a busy mom with 4 daughters. I work part time and go to college part time. My life can get kind of crazy sometimes between all the hairdos, carpools, soccer games, dance recitals, homework deadlines, job demands, etc. However; I'm a lucky girl with an incredible husband who runs along side me doing whatever he can to help.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. We have a large family consisting of 9 children who are all still very close, even though we are spread throughout the world. I was raised with the gospel in my life but still had to gain my own testimony of its truthfulness. I took my own path that led away from the church for a time. It was difficult for me but also led me to a conversion of my own. One night, I knelt beside my bed and poured my heart out to my Heavenly Father; a practice I hadn't engaged in for years, feeling I wasn't worthy to do so. But as I prayed, I could feel his love embracing me, ensuring me that he was still there. I knew it was time for me to come back to him; to the life he had in store for me. I was on fire after that, I knew without a doubt His gospel was true. This doesn't mean the struggles stopped, but I knew that path I needed to take and that Heavenly Father would be there beside me. Months later, I met my husband. He is a man of great integrity, honesty and virtue and I just knew he was too good for me. Luckily, he is also a stubborn man who wouldn't take no for an answer. We were married in the Salt Lake City, UT temple nearly a year after the night I spent pouring my heart out, asking Heavenly Father for help. I know there is a plan for each of us. Heavenly Father wants us to be happy. He wants us to know he walks beside us and know we can overcome anything. He still has to carry me in my weakest days, but I know he is willing. I know he loves me and wants to see me accomplish my divine purpose here on the earth.

How I live my faith

I get to teach the 3 year olds at church every Sunday. These little ones have so much energy and a zest and zeal for life. They want to tell you everything and know everything all at the same time. They have a pure heart with a love for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I love teaching them the simple principles, it reminds me to be grateful for all the little (and big) blessings in my life. I also get to visit with other women in our neighborhood each month, we call it visiting teaching. We get together to talk and learn from each other, forming long lasting bonds.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Zan
Tithing is a huge blessing in my life! That 10% blesses the lives of others, I know, but the blessings I receive far outweigh anything else. There have been times where that 10% seemed almost impossible to pay, but I did it anyway. Every time that has been the case, something has happened and my needs were met, sometimes even exceeded. I know it is about faith and obedience, and I am always blessed when I do so. Show more Show less
