Hi I'm Carol Rigby

I'm a Mormon, I was raised in a town of Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, I have gone to church since i was very young.

About Me

I have been married to my husband for almost 39 years and he has been a wonderful husband and father to our six children. My six children are my delight and my greatest success, being a mother has been a very enlightening and rewarding experience. When we were first married we decided that we wanted our children to grow up in the gospel and to stay faithful to the values and beliefs we taught them. We knew this would not happen if we were not faithful and true to our beliefs in God and Jesus Christ and we dedicated our lives to living the way the scriptures and particularly the Book of Mormon teach us to live.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptised when I was eight years old and have been taught the gospel from a very early age, I remember as a child and a teenager that I liked being at church i loved the peace I felt when i was their. When I reached my teenage years I remember walking home from Church one Sunday and pondering in my mind if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints was the true church upon the earth, I remember thinking to myself that the Catholic church and the Church of England say they are the true church, so how could I know if what I was taught that morning in Sunday School was the truth? I decide to ask God if it was the truth and that was the beginning of gaining my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. From my own asking through prayer and my spiritual experiences I know that God lives, I know that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and that He is my way back to my Heavenly Father to live with Him again. From being a young teenager I decided I would dedicate my life to God and keep His commandments, I wanted everything that God promised in the Book of Mormon and I have not been disappointed. It has not been easy i have learned to sacrifice and to be humble but the blessing I have received have far outweighed anything I have given up. I am looking forward to serving in the Gospel for the rest of my life and particularly to serving a mission with my husband.

How I live my faith

My greatest desire and joy is to lift and inspire others to know their own worth and to feel good about who they are and what their life is all about. I believe that every person has great worth and we all need to feel loved and wanted, I know that when we lift someones thoughts up and help them to feel good about who they are then they can start to move toward becoming the son or daughter of God they were born to be. Much of my time in the gospel I have spent serving the women in the local area and this has been a delight and also a growing experience, i have spent many years supporting my husband in his service and for the past ten years I have spent serving the youth and the Young Single Adults with my husband, we administer the Especially For Youth program for the UK and ensure that all the youth enjoy the experience of attending their session, we have served the Young Single Adult as part of the Especially For Youth program and also as their leaders and teachers in the local area. I love to teach the gospel and take the opportunity whenever I can I also like to write about living the gospel and how it helps us to find joy and happiness in our life.
