Hi I'm Tesla

Georgia Grown. I'm an electrical engineering student with two semesters left. I'm a Mormon, and I'm so blessed!

About Me

I love to learn. I read everything I can. I'm an electrical engineering student because I adore circuits. I also love to swim, sing, and smile. I love board games. I'm currently on a mission, serving in Chicago Illinois West. I love teaching the truth to others, and letting them feel the power of Christ's love.

Why I am a Mormon

In Georgia, I was one of very few members at my school. Though my parents were Mormon, others questioned my beliefs. This led me to question as well. One of my favorite things about this church is that we are encouraged to question, and to seek direct revelation through prayer. Though I knew that my parents believed in this religion, that wasn't enough for me. So I read the Book of Mormon again, and spent much time knelt in prayer. Finally, I felt an overwhelming peace surround me. And then I knew. The closest thing I can compare it to is intuition, although this was much more clear and powerful. I did not know this truth through a logical process, but I had learned it nonetheless.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through serving others. I volunteer every week at the local elementary school, and try to help those around me. I've found that loving and serving the fellow children of God around me has brought me closer to Him.

What is being a Mormon like?

Tesla
Being a Mormon is really amazing. It enriches my life in so many ways. For example, in high school I watched so many friends fall under the addiction of alcohol or drugs. The Gospel of Christ gave me enough strength to say no to the peer pressure around me. I have come to understand that the restrictions placed on me by the Gospel are truly safeguards. They protect me, body and spirit. They provide a beautiful, powerful freedom that ideas offered by the world can never offer. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Tesla
I live in a very close-knit family. My parents have four daughters and no sons. We're loud, silly, and full of love. In my family, I have seen true love shown by the examples of my parents. They are loving and completely faithful - to the Lord and to each other. My family gives me strength. They are always there to support and love me in difficult times. I know that I will be with my family forever because my parents were married together in the temple of God for all eternity. Last year my grandma died. Though her death was difficult because I loved her, I knew without any doubt that I would see her again. God gave me comfort to trust that death is not the end of our existence. Show more Show less
