Hi I'm Joseph

I'm a normal business student, studying in London. I love to help. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters, so family has always been my life! They are my best friends! I'm currently studying Business in London and enjoy learning.

Why I am a Mormon

2 missionaries knocked on the door of my grandparents house. They were both reluctant, in fact, invited them in only to make them look fools. They taught the restoration and my grandad, a big, Scottish military man, sat in silence and told them he was feeling something he never had before. He joined the church. Because of his decision, 40+ grandchildren are being brought up in the gospel, 10 have served/are serving missions. I am a Mormon because i love Jesus Christ. I was encapsulated by this man who had nothing and lived in such humble circumstances, yet, changed the world. As i learned about the purpose of His life, the atonement, i felt a strong awakening to my responsibility to be better! I have a very powerful relationship with Jesus Christ, and i continue to follow Him because He continues to bid me so. I love the Bible. it lead me to cherish the Book of Mormon. I am a Mormon, because i believe in family, i believe in eternal things, i believe so powerfully in Jesus Christ that i am not afraid to believe that His gospel as it was taught, is taught today. That miracles happen. That God still speaks to us, all of us. That Prophets, Apostles and others are still called to lead us on earth. My Dad was a convert, mum grew up in the church. They taught us all they could about the gospel and that stuck with me and all my brothers and sisters, we know that what they told us was true. I know we can all change, from bad to good, from good to better! I believe Jesus Christ makes that possible.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the church as a Youth leader. I love seeing them see in themselves their potential. I have served as a missionary in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia, and i love those lands and the people within them. I try all i can to help people enjoy the things i do because of selfless and determined service of the members of my ward and stake.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Baptism is a covenant with God, a promise or agreement. We have things similar happen everyday. E.g. Handshakes - This is the sign of an agreement. Likewise, baptism is the sign of 'agreement' or acceptance of Jesus Christ. The authority is so important not only for the baptism itself, but more because of what baptism qualifies you for - The Gift of the Holy Ghost. The authority is important because of what the baptism and recieving the Gift of The Holy Ghost does - It cleanses you completely. This is a power we do not have, but God alone does. Therefore a man cannot simply do this act and expect the same results. God delegates this power to righteous men, and they are given the authority to act in Gods name on earth, that these ordinances can have the required effect - Cleansing of sin. Authority is authenticity. Show more Show less
