Hi I'm Preston

I will serve a mission in the Italy Milan Mission. I love to sing. I love making other people happy. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an 18-year old young man currently living in Oklahoma while my father serves as the Mission President of the Oklahoma Oklahoma City Mission. I am preparing to serve my mission in the Italy Milan Mission, and I enter the MTC on July 24th, 2013 - I cannot wait! I love to sing, dance, act and perform. I have been participating in musical productions for about 7 years now, and I absolutely love it! Music is one of my greatest sources of happiness, and I hope that music will always be a part of my life. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God, who loves us completely and unconditionally, and I want to give that love back. I'm a Mormon because I believe very strongly that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints truly is the true church of Jesus Christ once again restored to the Earth. I have prayed to know if this is true, and every time I get the same answer. A resounding YES. I'm a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon truly is the Word of God. It is another testament of Jesus Christ and his divine role as our Savior and Redeemer. I have also prayed to know if the Book of Mormon really is the Word of God, and I cannot deny the answer that I have received each time: YES. I know that Joseph Smith was the man called by God to restore Christ's church to the Earth, and to translate the ancient records that make up what is now known as the Book of Mormon. And along with this knowledge, I know that there continues to be a prophet on this Earth. His name is Thomas S. Monson. Being a Mormon brings me so much happiness in life. It brings me the calm assurance that no matter how difficult life can be, and no matter how much tribulation I face, the Atonement of Jesus Christ will always be there to strengthen me, motivate me, and empower me. It gives my life purpose, meaning, and direction. There are many people who do not understand our beliefs, but I am here to tell you that they are not that far off from what you believe. You just need to look closer. Finally, I'm a Mormon because I have an undying faith in Jesus Christ and that if I constantly work to keep the commandments of God and live a Christ-like life, I will be rewarded in the life to come. And this brings me so much peace. I'm a Mormon. I know. I love it. I believe it.

How I live my faith

I absolutely love being a part of this church. I go to church about 3 times a week - every Sunday for 4 hours (if you figure in an hour of Mission Prep Class after church), every Wednesday for really fun youth activities, and sometimes on Saturdays or dances or service activities. I work as hard as I can to read the Book of Mormon every day, pray to my Heavenly Father every morning and night, and employ the use of other study helps to prepare for my mission. Doing all of these things every day brings me SO much joy! I also do all I can to share my beliefs with people I know, because I feel such a great need to share the source of my happiness with others, motivated by the knowledge of how happy they could be with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their life. I love being a Mormon!
