Hi I'm Kai

I was born in Hong Kong. Through my Heavenly Father's plan, I was brought to my family here in America. Now, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Having been born in Hong Kong China, I have a different background than most people. I was born to a 13 year old mother, placed in an orphanage, and eventually adopted by my mom who served a mission to Hong Kong when she was younger. I grew up in the center of Utah so you might assume that being LDS came naturally, but it was still very much my choice. I have good parents who taught me the gospel, but always emphasized that I do things for myself and for the right reason. Through prayer and reading the Book of Mormon, I have come to know for myself that Jesus is the Christ and that this church is true. I was home-schooled for a large portion of my school life, but this doesn't mean I'm antisocial! I love talking to people and would rather spend my time talking, than playing video games, or using the computer. I love sports especially basketball and football. I also enjoy dancing (Ballroom and Break). Because I am adopted, my older sister who is 10 months older than me, has always been my best friend. I love my family more than anything else! Having Served a mission in one of the most diverse cities in the world (New York), I know more than anything that God loves all of His Children, and desires for all of us to return to His presence. Right now I am studying to become a paramedic!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings to me. Having been adopted, there is nothing more important to me than my family. Having the knowledge that my family can be together forever, through all eternity is the best news I could ever hear. I am a Mormon because I have seen God's hand in my life. Leading and guiding me ever since I was little. I was born in Hong Kong, basically on the other side of the world from where I am at now. If it hadn't been for my Heavenly Father's plan, I would still be there. Because of him, my family found me, because of him I have the Gospel, and because of his Gospel I have peace in my life. I am happy, and I know why I am here. As a Missionary I want to be able to share that peace, to show other's that God has a hand in their lives as well, and to help them be happy. Mostly though, I am a Mormon because I love my family and friends, and I know the only way we can be together forever is through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being me! Right now that means serving my Heavenly Father as a full time missionary. I am currently serving as a missionary in the New York, New York South, Mandarin speaking mission. I believe that religion ought to be who you are, not what you do! The gospel of Jesus Christ is different from all other religions because it asks us to do more than believe something, it asks us to BE something. Each and every day I strive to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ, and act in ways that would make him proud of me. Whether it be a simple smile to a downcast face, a listening ear to those who fill forgoten, a helping hand to the needy or especially sharing my testimony that God is our Father and He does love us. The best way to share what you believe in is by living it! Don't just go through the actions! Be what you believe! Don't be embarrassed about you believe in, just be you.
