Hi I'm Abigail D

I'm an outdoor enthusiast!! I am studying Geology, and work as an EMT. I'm a mormon.

About Me

Right now I am a Pre-Med student studying Geology. The combination is a little weird- I know but I really love learning about rocks! I love the outdoors and spend all the time I can in the mountains! Sadly I only venture out about once a week as I have a super busy schedule. I work about 35 hours a week as an EMT and MA, in addition to attending school full time. I have the cutest puppy on the planet- a blue heeler and Australian Shepherd mutt named Everest. I love to read- and have a book recommendation for almost anything! I love listening to music, and attending local concerts! I listen to a lot of Folk music, but I enjoy alternative and electronic music as well. I love to run, and go every morning before classes. I also love biking! As I am very independent, and I don't have a car right now, my (awesome) bike gets me everywhere I want to go! I recently received my mission call to Fukuoka Japan and cannot wait to serve the Lord across the world!!

Why I am a Mormon

You know that feeling you get when you hear something you know is true? Maybe it is a chill down your spine, maybe its a warm feeling in your heart. We believe that is the feeling of the Holy Spirit. You can find this feeling all across the world, wherever there is truth. I feel the presence Holy Ghost when I climb a really tall mountain, read a touching story, or finally come to a perfect understanding of a difficult concept in my Chemistry class. Most of all, I feel the presence of the Holy Ghost as I learn and follow the teachings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have found that nothing makes me happier than to live the teachings outlined in the scriptures and spoken by the mouths of our prophets. It is not always easy to find truth. Our Heavenly Father wants us to really understand his gospel, and the way it fits in with the world around us, so fervent study and prayer is often necessary. Although it might take time and effort, he will always answer our questions and silence our fears. Our Heavenly Father knows what we are capable of, with his help. We will be faced with mountains whose peaks are higher than we can even fathom. I know, and testify that with our Heavenly Father's help he will help us become all that we are capable of being. I promise, and testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only church on the earth with a fullness of the gospel, in living it you will find true happiness. By following its precepts we will again return to live with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

Every morning I arise and pray to my Heavenly Father. I go about my day trying to keep remembrance of him, and my Savior Jesus Christ. I strive to live the commandments found in the scriptures and from the mouths of the Holy Prophets, because I want to be happy and live with the influence of the Spirit. Each time I get paid I give ten percent of my earnings to my church. The first Sunday of each month I fast for 24 hours, and give what money I would have spent on food as a fast offering to my church. I am called as a member of the service committee in my singles ward, we plan events that allow the ward to get involved in service projects. I am assigned two girls in my who I strive to visit monthly, and get to know them better. I strive to attend the temple often, as I recognize it is the House of the Lord.
