Hi I'm Dino

I'm an only child. I grew up in Wyoming. I am a football player, wrestler, and track athlete.

About Me

I am an only child, but where I lack in direct family members I makeup in extended family members. I am an athlete involved in football, wrestling, and track. I have had great success in sports as I have won many state championships in all three sports. I was voted the all-sport athlete of the year in all classes in my state in 2013. I love the outdoors hiking, camping, swimming, and anything else exciting. I am a lifeguard as well. I love learning about almost anything and so at school I get involved in as many activities as I can. I am involved in about as many teams and clubs as can be possible being everything from student body president, to a varsity football captain, to a swing choir member.. I have great family and friends and a great love for the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. This is no explanation however for my choice of being a Mormon. I have come to have a deep testimony of the Church through much prayer, study, and fasting. Time after time I have read the Book of Mormon and asked God if this book and this gospel were true and time after time I have received the same answer, that this is Christ's Church. I have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost and He has borne witness to me. I have a deep love for Jesus Christ and His atonement. I know that He did come to this earth and that He did live a perfect life and suffer for my sins providing the only way to return with Him and my Heavenly Father. I know that He will come again to this earth. I also have a strong testimony of Heavenly Father's plan for my life. He has provided countless blessings for my life. I have seen His hand preforming miracles in my life times when I don't have the strength or ability to go on I have been carried. In sports all of my accomplishments and successes are from Him. I ask for His help before every practice and competition and for my reliance on Him and striving to do my part by giving my all, he has blessed me greatly. At all times He watches over me. I have struggled many nights but as I prayed and read the Book of Mormon the Lord provided words of comfort time after time. I found words and council specific to my struggle. Words that only an all knowing Heavenly Father could provide. I have received comfort and answers to problems I never told anyone or even spoke aloud. I know this is Christ's Church. I know we have a Heavenly Father, a Savior Jesus Christ, and a comforter the Holy Ghost. I know that Joseph Smith did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that They called Joseph by name They knew him. I know that They also know me perfectly and love me perfectly despite mistakes I so easily make. They want me to return to Them. They love me and that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am very involved in church service. I have participated in primary and young mens my entire life. I am an Eagle Scout and have almost entirely completed my Duty to God award. I have also had different job opportunities or callings some of which include serving as president of the 12-14 age group also called deacons, serving as president of the 14-16 age group also called teachers. Or serving as a first assistant to our congregation's Bishop. At school I have been involved in seminary as well. I have graduated seminary and have been on the seminary council for the past four years. Two years ago I was a counselor in the presidency and this last year I was president. I now have the Melchizedek Priesthood and I have a mission call to serve for the next two years.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

Dino
There are no restrictions based on race or color concerning membership and Priesthood Authority. I am a perfect witness to this fact. I have fasted and prayed many days and nights over this point and I have come to a conclusion that God loves all of His children. I know that he knows me and loves me for who I am. He created me and is my Father just like all of His other children. I know that He would never want to hurt any of His children. I know that Heavenly Father Knows best. Furthermore, I have seen God's love for all of His children through His closest servants the Prophets and Apostles. They care for everyone and seek to spread the Church to every country of the world. President Spencer W. Kimball and the Apostles in 1978 who received and approved official declaration 2 extending the priesthood to all worthy male members. The priesthood is a great privilege and opportunity and I know Heavenly Father waited for all people both in and out of the church to be ready. Lastly, Joseph Smith the first prophet of this last dispensation was once again an example of loving everyone as he baptized black members of the church and some were given the priesthood. It gives me great comfort to know that through the racism and worldly pressures during that time that Joseph Smith wasn't wavered and he loved everyone. I know that we are all created in God's image and that he loves and knows each one of us. Show more Show less
