Hi I'm Amy

I love music! I love to sew and read! I'm a mom of five children, from teenagers down to a preschooler! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach and Tustin California. I attended Catholic school for all of my elementary school years as well as junior high school. I believe that I was given a great foundation during my school years which prepared me for future learning and knowledge. I am a mom of five awesome children. I love to sew, read, camp and cook! I've always wished to know how to play an instrument but never had the opportunity. While I'm waiting for my turn, I love to listen to my children play piano, violin and percussion. I LOVE music of almost all genres. Among my favorites are James Taylor, Bob Marley, John Mayer, No Doubt, Ryan Innes, and just about anything 80's! I lost my dad to cancer when I was just thirty years old and look forward to seeing him again one day. I have been and am now very involved in the Cubscout program. I am in the process of registering for college now that my children are almost all in school and hope to be teaching kindergarten in the near future. I am a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I joined the church 18 years ago and have been excitedly pleased with my decision ever since. Not a day passes that I am not grateful for the day I made that decision! My life is amazing and I am truly happy and at the center of it all is my Savior Jesus Christ and my membership in his church.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young, there was never a reason to question my faith. I always knew that I loved Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. I always knew the importance of being a part of his church and living the way he taught. When I was twelve years old, my family began to suffer through some trials, that motivated me to ask more questions and look for additional understanding. When the questions I had could not be answered, I began to look for what I knew could be answered. I attended a number of different churches and although all had wonderful aspects to them, something was still missing. Eventually, I attended a meeting at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I had not heard of this church but the first time I attended, I knew I would find what I had been looking for. I felt different when I was among this congregation. I felt knowledge and truth pouring over me and I knew that I truly had felt the presence of the Holy Ghost speaking to my heart. The more I studied, the more I wanted to know. Suddenly, the scriptures I had read all my life were more clear and applied more to me in my life. I couldn't get enough and I knew I would never be able to walk away from this church. My life became in alignment with the life I knew I should lead. I now had a clear pathway and felt like I could truly follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. Although trials and worries still come my way, I feel peace in the Lord's presence in my life. I know that I can correct the mistakes I make and I know that I will be given strength to improve who I am. I feel guided as a mother and a wife. My relationship with my husband is strong because we learn and grow together and are headed the same direction. We have the same goals including staying together as a family forever. I know I can lean on the guidance and direction of the Holy Ghost and that I can trust that if I do my best to live the life I should, I will never be alone.

How I live my faith

I love living my faith! I look forward to visiting with woman whom I am assigned to watch over each month. I love knowing that I am not alone as a mother, wife, sister, daughter and woman. I serve in our area as a Webelos leader in the Cubscout program and was an Assistant Cubmaster. I love to read the scriptures including the Bible and the Book of Mormon. In the past I have taught the small children in Sunday School, nutured the toddlers in Nursery, and taught the young woman in our neighborhood in a program similiar to Girl Scouts. I try to live each day in the footsteps of my Savior Jesus Christ. I believe that if I have a skill that I can share, such as cooking, I am ready and willing to teach. I also love knowing that if I need help in anyway, I have a wonderful network of people I can turn to so that I can be taught. I love to research the history of my family and to be able to connect the dots between me and my ancestors. My life is blessed in every way because I love the Lord and know that He loves me!!
