Hi I'm Chris Quick

I grew up in good old Utah. I'm a computer geek, play the violin, love exploring, camping, helping others, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated High School in 2012 from Viewmont High, and have attended one year of college as a music major. I enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking, camping and exploring. When I go somewhere new like in the wilderness, I like to check out the area and see what it has to offer. I have played the violin since I was 5 years old, and I'm very accomplished. I'm also into technical things, and am good at problem solving. Many people come to me if they have questions about computers, and I enjoy helping them. I am also really considering going to school and starting up a business with computers and programming. Other possible careers I have been considering include Politics, a High School Teacher, Forest Ranger, Law Enforcement, or something to do with Racing Cars. I also have my Eagle Scout award. A few more interests I have include photography, taking things apart too see how they work (and hopefully being able to put them back together), and other recreational activities including boating, four wheeling, snowboarding, and just going really fast! I also love swing and ballroom dancing. I served a full time mission for The Church in the Charleston West Virginia Mission from July 2013 to July 2015. It's great to be back!

Why I am a Mormon

For me, I was born a member of the church and my parents let me choose whether I was going to serve a mission or not. I'm not Mormon because my family is, or because my friends are. I'm a Mormon because I know that it is the only true church on the earth. Whenever I visit our temples, the spirit confirmes to me that what I am doing is right. I'm proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

When I go to church I do whatever is asked of me. I have been asked to be a leader, to teach lessons, or play the violin during Sunday meetings. I serve others whenever I get the chance. I have learned from my mission that it is important to follow the teachings of the gospel, no matter what others may say. To trust in the Church leaders, and to never forget to pray! Heavenly Father answers prayers, we just have to listen for those answers that he gives us. Sometimes prayers are answered in ways that we don't exactly like. But, it's always important to follow the answers that we receive, because the Lord will bless us.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Chris Quick
Temples are very sacred places. They are known as The House of the Lord. A few things you need to do as a member of the church to enter the temple include: Being worthy. This means to follow the law of chastity, the word of wisdom, be honest, sustain the church leaders, etc. Be a full tithe payer. This means, that with whatever you make, you give 10% to the Lord. This 'donation' is what helps build temples and churches. Temples aren't secret, they are sacred. Show more Show less
