Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a mother. I'm an outdoor enthusiast. I'm a human rights advocate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in good old Las Vegas, NV. I am a wife and a mother of one daughter. I received a Masters in Social Work, and am passionate about human rights issues. I have worked with refugees both as a case worker in a resettlement agency and as a therapist for those who have endured torture or severe war trauma. I spent a total of about 8 months working with children in an orphanage and children's hospital in Romania. I love to get to know people for their unique personalities, backgrounds, and cultures. I am passionate and optimistic about life. I love being outdoors and enjoying the beautiful creations of God. A good hike or ride on my road bike up a canyon feeds my soul. I love to read, to continuously learn, to sing, to dance, to travel, to cook.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had the Spirit of God testify to me of the truth found within the Book of Mormon and within this church. I am a Mormon because every aspect of this church brings me closer to God and to Jesus Christ. Every book, every organization, every call to serve teaches me more about them and helps me to follow them more closely. I am a Mormon because the knowledge it gives and the guidelines for life that it teaches bring me indescribable joy, confidence and purpose.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best person I can be, by loving God and loving my neighbor no matter what circumstance I find myself in. I live my faith by striving to always remember my Savior and follow in His footsteps. I live my faith by putting my God and my family first, and trying to be the best mother I can be. I live my faith by following the commandments of God. I also live my faith by serving in positions within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For the last few years my husband and I taught high-school aged teenagers in our congregation about the Savior and His gospel. I currently serve as the secretary for our congregation's children's organization.
