Hi I'm Zach

I believe in Christ. I'm serving in the Kyiv Ukraine Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I played football for my high school team. I also ran the 100 m sprint in track. I am an eagle scout. After President Monson's announcement in the October 2012 General Conference, I decided to serve a mission right out of high school. I received my call to the Kyiv Ukraine Mission. I reported to the Provo MTC on July 31st to learn how to help the people of Ukraine by learning Russian. Right now I am in the beautiful city Vinnytsya. I have been accepted to both Utah State University and BYU, but I am not sure which one I will end up attending. I have deferred my admission, and will be able to make my decision when I get back from my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know that it's true. I was raised in the Church, but I have gained my own testimony rather than relying on those of my parents. I read the Book of Mormon, and I prayed to know if it is true. As Moroni promised at the end of the Book of Mormon, I received a witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I was touched by the Holy Ghost. There have also been other times in my life when I have felt the Spirit, giving me a witness of the truthfulness of the Gospel. I know that Christ lived a perfect mortal life, as only He could have. I know that He died for each and every one of our sins, so that we could return to live with Heavenly Father again. I know that He did this for us because of his infinite love for each of us individually, as Heavenly Father does as well. I know that the Plan of Salvation is the way for us to receive eternal life, which is to live with Heavenly Father for eternity. I know that families can be together forever. I know that, while none of us is perfect, each of us has the potential to receive eternal life through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Gold Plates into the Book of Mormon. I know that we have prophets, seers, and revelators on the earth today who continue to receive inspiration and revelation from God.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am serving in the Kyiv Ukraine Mission right now. I am doing my best to not only learn Russian, but to be in tune with the Spirit. This means that I am trying to be worthy of the Spirit so that I can receive that guidance and be able to recognize and act on it. I am working on preparing myself spiritually so that those I come into contact with will be able to feel the Spirit and know that what I am saying is true. I am doing my best to become an effective missionary in order to serve the people of Ukraine. I try to talk to as many people as I can in order to give them an opportunity to accept the chance to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am always looking to improve myself, because there is always lots of room for improvement.
