Hi I'm Silvia

I was born in Guatemala, I was raised in Virginia, I married a Scotsman and I now live in Edinburgh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to bake and cook! Right now I am exploring the art of cake decorating. I am a housewife, and keep very busy with all my voluteering in church and in the comunity.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church! My parents have been less active members since I was like 6 years old. Thanks to all my loving leaders, especally those Young Women leaders that helped my every step of the way, I am not sure where I would be today. I know I have a Heavenly Father who loves me beyond my understanding. He loves us all and wants us to live with him again. The love that Jesus Christ has for mankind is equally enormous. Becasue of his sacrifice we will one day be resurrected. I love the prophets they guide us and lead us. If we listen and obey, we will not be lead astray. I love the Scriptues, as I read them I feel closer to my Father in Heaven. When I am down they pick me up and give me the strength to keep moving.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the Young Women's President for our ward. This means I am responsible for all the girls from age 12-18 in the church. The youth are great, they are strong and with the help of all the leaders they are able to make and keep covenants that will allow them to always stand in holy places. It is a hard world out there and we need to help the youth so they will not falter. We organise summer camps, sports days, talent nights, dances, and lots more for the youth. One recent activity we held was a four hour drive in a mini-bus to our nearest Temple, at Preston in England. They were well behaved and even though it was a little cramped, they really enjoyed their trip. As we work together to keep their minds focused on wholsome activites, they will have the fuel they need when they are faced with tough and tempting situations. The young men and women of this church are such a great example!
