Hi I'm Ashton

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I use to play trumpet in high school and I was section leader my junior and senior year. During marching band my senior year I played a solo for our marching show and when we went to state I played it in front of thousands of people. It was an experience I'll never forget. I also love to play soccer, although I usually end up on a team who never wins a game during the season, I find it more enjoyable because each game was challenging and the guys I played with worked together as a team.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom married a man who is a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, and I was able to see the difference in the way I lived my life before and after he became a part of our family. I remember praying to know why I had such a warm feeling whenever I attended church with them, and if I should be baptized. The answer didn't come until a few days later when the Lord knew I was ready to recieve it. I was hanging out with a LDS friend one day at school and a group came over and asked him why he attended the Mormon church and why he followed followed such "hard rules". As he bore his testimony of how the standards of the LDS church were not rules, but guide lines giving us an oppurtunity to feel true happiness and joy as we obey Gods commandments, an overwhelming feeling of comfort and belonging begin to fill my heart. I knew then that I needed to be baptized and follow the standards of the church.

How I live my faith

I love the oppurtunites I get to go hometeaching, not only being able to share the spirit with them in their home, but to make sure their family is doing ok. I help the missionaries every chance I get teaching people that have just heard about the gospel or being able to share my testimony over the lesson the missionaries have taught. I'm blessed to have two little sisters who teach me the importance of loving others as the Lord does, and I always accept an invitation to fill in when a teacher is absent.
