Hi I'm Elder W. Craig Clark

I'm a youth leader in my local Scouting Community. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

Before becoming a full-time missionary I spent a good chunk of my time heavily involved in the Boy Scouts of America. Growing up I can always remember that becoming an Eagle Scout was just something I really wanted to do. And so I worked at it, and achieved it. After getting my Eagle I just couldn't stop. I ended up working at a Scout Camp a little over an hour from home, for 7 summers. The last year becoming one of the area directors. I also worked as a staff member for a National Jamboree and a National Order of the Arrow Conference. I was also for a time very involved in the local Oder of the Arrow Lodge at home. Working in varius leadership positions. My time doing these has helped me in more ways than I realized they would. It was like the perfect preparation for missionary work, which is the perfect preparation for life as an adult. When I return home from missionary service I have plans to go to school in Computer science and focus on software engineering. I also plan on continuing to stay involved in Scouting in my local area as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints my whole liflife number of years ago my Ward went on a trip to Martins Cove. I had the opportunity to go as one of my ancestors who had been in one of the handcraft companies that had been stranded in Martins Cove. And I spent the whole time that we were there feasting on the Gospel. On the second to last day of being there we went up into the cove, before we had been going around to the other sites around the cove, and we had a great informational session, with someone who worked there, about the significance of Martins Cove. Afterwords we had about a half hour where we could go off by our self and read the scriptures, write in our journal, and pray. Throughout the trip I had been able to learn and feel closer to my ancestor, while off by myself reading and praying I had an experience where I came to know for myself that this was all true. It has changed my life forever since. When we were done by our self we each came down the path that led out of the Cove and our leaders were there waiting in a line for us to come out. When we went by them we all shook hands or hugged them and then continued on to our handcarts. Since that trip years ago I have been able to continue to learn and grow more and more each year. And will continue to do so.

How I live my faith

Beginning in Feb 2016 I have been serving in New York state as a full-time missionary for the Church. Each day we go out and find people to teach. Here in new York city we have been talking to everyone we can. With how many people live here there's sure plenty to keep talking to. The message we share with people is center on Jesus Christ and how his gospel can bless individual lives and families. In this life, and for eternity in the life to come. I live my faith by continuing to study the words of prophets, both ancient and modern, recorded in the scriptures. Attending church each week. Praying and communicating with my Father in Heaven. And by sharing it with those I meet in a daily basis.

Who are the Mormons?

Elder W. Craig Clark
Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We get the nickname Mormon from a book of scripture coparable to the Bible called the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Thanks to a loving Heavenly Father we have a modern prophet on the earth today that leads and guides our church. Just like prophets of old. Show more Show less
