Hi I'm Eric Lewis

I'm tall, laid back and a mormon.

About Me

I love music, sports and the outdoors. I was built to play bass, basketball and volleyball but enjoy getting out and doing anything active (especially on the beach). I am the oldest of four ( I've got two brothers and one sister). I grew up in a private christian school, moved to a public school and have attended a couple years at a local community college. I travel every opportunity I get, I live and love my life to it's fullest potential and invite everyone around me come along.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always known I had a loving Heavenly Father. Nevertheless, I strayed from His loving counsel during my teenage years. My younger brother began investigating while he was about to graduate from highschool and that peaked my interest. Our father was raised a member of the Church but was inactive our entire lives and we did not know much about the Churches teachings. Then I ran into a friend from highschool at the park. They invited me to Church and from the first time I sat down and started singing the first hymn I felt the Spirit testify to me that this is where I belonged. The room seemed to suddenly grow brighter and I felt a warmth about me, like I was sitting outside in the sun on a beautiful summer day. I felt like this was something I had been searching for my whole life and as I met with the missionaries and discussed the beliefs of the Church I was unable to find any faults but instead found answers that I had always believed but never heard anyone preach. As I continued my search for more truth, within the Church this time, I developed the ability to receive personal revelation (answers directly from God specifically for me, usually given through thoughts and feelings). Now I rely on that as well as the gift of the Holy Spirit, administered by the authority given straight from God, to keep me on the strait and narrow path leading back to our Heavenly Father. I know He loves me as well as all of His children. I know His Son set up a Church while on the earth and that after He died for us and His apostles were killed that Church was broken and utterly lost until God lovingly restored it for us in these latter days. I know He preserved the record of the Book of Mormon so that we may know that Jesus Christ lives for us, He has once again brought His Church to the earth through a prophet and the Book of Mormon is evidence of that power and authority. Don't take my word for it, go and seek it out for yourself for He promises us that we shall find.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one step at a time because I'm tall, goofy and prone to fall. I pray in order to stay in contact with my Heavenly Father, His love motivates me to continue to pursue the path He has laid before me to return to His presence. I praise Him through uplifting tunes of worship and am currently devoting all my time and talents to serve His children in the Michigan Lansing Mission. Most importantly, I am constantly seeking revelation through His holy word provided by His chosen prophets of old and new. I show my gratitude for His loving care by reaching out my hand to others and doing my best to share what has been given to me.
