Hi I'm John Kennedy

I'm a Mormon of nearly 38 years and not yet perfect

About Me

I am a father of 4 and grand father of 7 which I am sure will increase. The beard is for the British pageant. I was a Judo player and a fisherman. I not very academic leaving school not to spell my middle name, the street I lived on or the part of Bury where I lived, I learned to really read I did that reading the Book of Mormon and rediscovering the Bible, I am still not good at spelling or punctuation. I write poetry such as: Oasis for a Lost Soul You are like an Oasis, refreshing and crystal clear I feel your gentle soothing influence, when you are near You make life all that it must be, bring out the You, in me I am the one who stands alone, attempts, the solo flight Not ready to be the mastered, by what is always right Failing, yet you love me still, wanting to learn, and I will As I shun the safety of your council, and your word I am the one, who claims to have listened and heard Yet I am the one, with an empty heart, but never stilled What is in store for me, one step ahead, is all I want to see No grand visions, no vista view, tell me what to do, with me I am lost in life, with a mind that betrays, the weaker me I am here to be made whole, here to be schooled and to grow Here to find out, what Father, has already learned to be I stand at the edge of eternity, not wanting to lose my soul All is placed here for me to use, and to employ to the full I have only to focus, deploy my concentrated, mind's eye Then I will find the answer, to my burning question, why?

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I prayed and asked if the church was true and having received an answer which I did not expect because of the kind of person I was, that it is true I had to act on the answer.

How I live my faith

I almost never miss church and love to go if I am on holiday. I have served in a number of capacities and love the challenges of things teaching lessons(maybe the challenge is for the class members more than me) speaking in worship meetings is a great challenge that I have grown from. I enjoy sharing my testimony with people so they can see where I have come from and that if I can rise to the challenges that life in the church offers anyone can be a church member, it was a steep learning curve for me as I was very much not a nice young man. I always felt that I was not from here and the church allowed be to find out who I am, who I can be and where I can be. I wish I knew everything as well as I know that Jesus is the Christ and that God the Father the Holy Ghost are intent on helping me through life.
