Hi I'm Kara

I'm a Morman! All that I have in my life that is good comes from my faith and commitment to the Church of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I was born in New Mexico and raised in a small town in Utah! Being from a state known for it's huge canyons, miles and miles of slick rock and mountains, and the perfect snow I gained a respect and love for God and all His creations. It was such a blessing to be raised surrounded by such awesome terrain and beauty. I really enjoy doing anything I can outside! Hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, making wood crafts, remodeling you name it I love it!! My free time is spent cooking, reading, and with family and friends. I would like to travel one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to be born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but there comes a time when every person, raised in the church or not, will have to take their stand and choose to accept this gospel and live it or meander along the sidelines. For me it came in large part when I recieved a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the reality of the Apostacy and Restoration. The teachings of the church have increased my faith in Jesus Christ and have provided me a knowledge of God's plan for me personally, and simply makes me a much better person than I would be otherwise. Yes, I know, alot of people say that's why they're a Mormon, but the reason they say that is because it really works! If you know there was an Apostacy, you see the need for the Restoration. If the Book of Mormon is true, Jospeh Smith would have had to have been the prophet of the restoration. we have a Living prophet that teaches us and guides us today. I know those things to be true, but today the reason I am a Mormon is simply because I have seen the positive differences in my lifestyle this gospel brings. This gospel changes lives! No one will ever convince me otherwise. I have seen it first hand. The contrast in peace, love, happiness, joy, spirituality, and family unity is absolutely remarkable. The gospel blesses families, and it will bless you personally as well. It is not something to be read about or simply thought about. These blessings are not something you can comprehend just by investigating. Learn it. Try it. Live it, and you will love it. I did!

How I live my faith

Living my faith is the essence of not only following Christ's teachings, but trying to become more like him. This is possible on a daily basis through the simple and small things in life-such as reading the scriptures and praying often, smiling and saying hello to people as they walk past me on the sidewalks or in the grocery store. I often try to say thank-you to others, even if its just because they took the time to listen to me. Service is also a huge part! I enjoy planned service projects and love looking for unexpected opportunities to help people throughout the day. I am also a sunbeam teacher within the church. I love planning lessons and thinking about the needs of those little kids I teach and how the lesson can be applied into our lives.
