Hi I'm Elizabeth Jeffries

I live in Kentucky. I am mom to 4 autistic SPD kids. I have Lupus and Hypo-Thyroid disease. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am a mother, documentary style photographer and writer. I own and run a website called, "Hurricane Jeffries" where we use our own brand of reality humor with some informative education tips mixed I every article. We have a blog that shows the world how we survive our own special needs family. It has lots of out best, worst, and funniest moments mixed with pictures of our family to bring a face and name and even activity together I one big glorious bag of mixed nuts. Our 3 boys are diagnosed with Asbergers, Sensory Processing disorder, ADHD, and an anxiety disorder. Our little girl is soon to be diagnosed with SPD and has no speech. We have grown to truly love our unique family and feel incredibly blessed To be able to live together, play together, and survive together in this crazy world. After all if it isn't fun then it isn't worth it. Check out our website www.hurricanejeffries.com to see how we survive our special-needs family. We do our best to raise righteous Warriors because after all the world definitely needs them. Our motto is are you being an Angel or the problem. The choice is always ours.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon by a strong LDS family that taught the planeness of the gospel and then built on those core believes to create a sound and strong religious testimony in both myself and my five brothers. I struggled greatly with my health for over 25 of my now 36 years. It is now that I have gratitude in this struggle or trial. I am who God MADE me be. Everything I went through, both great and small has molded me into the individual I am today. I have a powerful testimony that God knows me, who I am inside and out, he ears me and answers my prayers, he holds me up when I am too weak and I thank him hourly for his loving support. I believe with all my heart and should that this religion is true and that with out it I would have been lost or dead by now. I am lucky enough to have a true understanding of what God expects from me and I am lucky enough to be able to be his angel here on earth serving others as he would if he were allowed to do so......I serve because I love my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ,

How I live my faith

Our faith encompasses every part of our life not just at church. I am the volunteer parent advocate for our county here in New Castle And I spend time educating parents, teachers, other educators and community leaders on how we can create a better and more Christian based community and school system. I draw on my strong LDS values to fight for our children in every aspect of their lives. I try to help others understand that strong children come from strong communities and families. We work hard In our own family to teach the following, "Are you being a Righteous Warrior or are you being the problem? And that it is always OUR choice to make."
