Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a wife to an amazing man. I'm a stay-at-home mom to a toddler. I'm a mother who has buried her baby. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I met at BYU in 2007. One year later, we were married for time and all eternity. I graduated with my degree in Public Health and we are both BYU fans through and through. Now, a few years later, I am a stay-at-home mom. I have two children: (1) My two-year-old son and (2) my little angel son, Joshua, who passed away when he was 2 1/2 months old from congenital heart defects. I love to spend my time with my family, especially going on walks, eating ice cream, and watching fun TV shows.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to grow up in a family that was active in the church my entire life. I have always had faith in my Savior and have found peace in His gospel throughout my life. I loved attending my youth activities and seminary in high school. I love my association with the different wards I have been in. But, most importantly, I have felt my Savior's love during the happiest and the darkest times. Probably the most significant experience that has shaped my testimony has been the loss of my second child, Joshua. He was born with a complicated combination of heart defects and after 2 1/2 months of fighting for his life, he passed away peacefully at home. It has been during this darkest time that I have experienced Christ's light brighter than ever before. Although many would say my life has been tragic, since I lost my little Joshua, I have found the opposite to be true. My life is filled with joy and hope. I believe I will not only see Joshua again, but I will have the opportunity to raise him as my son one day. This life is just a small drop in the bucket of existence. It is true that I miss Joshua everyday...what person doesn't miss a loved one who is far away? But the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ lifts me during my darkest times and gives me the days filled with light! Why am I a Mormon? Because it is through this gospel that I have found the greatest joys!

How I live my faith

I am a very active member of my ward. I currently serve with the 8-11 year old girls. I love teaching them the gospel, especially helping them understand how much God loves them. I also serve as a choir director and enjoy sharing my musical talent to help worship. I love being a visiting teacher to a number of other women in the ward. Some of my best friends have been found through visiting teaching. Outside my ward, I live my faith on a daily basis. I am constantly praying and reading my scriptures. I reach out to my Heavenly Father for help as I raise my son in righteousness. I have a strong desire to do what my Heavenly Father wants, so I am constantly praying for his guidance and strength. I love to look for ways to serve my neighbors, friends, and strangers. I depend on my faith to help me get through the loss of my little boy and I have found great strength through living my faith.
