Hi I'm Marisol

I'm studying business and love finding new music to add to my collection. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest out of four children. We're all pretty spread out but I couldn't imagine my life without them. We are what you would probably call a little strange since we get our kicks from teasing one another relentlessly, quoting movies for hours, and breaking out into song. My parents are recently divorced and I now have two new step sisters and twin baby sisters. Right now I'm in my third year of college studying business management and human resources along with marketing, and music. So as you can imagine I can at times get quite busy. Along with that I a member of a sorority. And no, not all sororities are like the ones you see on TV. It's more like a home away from home, and a support system you get to experience life with along with being able to help the community. When I'm not busy with school I love to spend time with my friends by either going to the mall, painting our nails, having game nights, or having movie marathons ranging from The Lord of the Rings to Nicholas Sparks movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have learned for myself that there is a God. I have come to realize His love for me and in return I have learned to trust Him with all my heart, might, and mind. I now know that God answers your prayers, if they be righteous, even if it be a silent prayer you hold in your heart that you dare not speak out loud. It may not be in the way you thought or even the way you wanted, but He is there and wants your happiness for you are his child. I'm a Mormon because I have learned for myself that Christ died for me personally that one day I may be able to return to my father in heaven by repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. I'm a Mormon because these are all the things that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches through scriptures along with latter day prophets which I know to be true for I have prayed about about it and have learned that they speak the truth. I'm a Mormon because I know all these things to be true and I can not deny what I know to be true and so here I am telling you because how could one know such greatness without sharing it with someone else.

How I live my faith

I am what you would call the Relief Society secretary. So basically I remind the women of my ward what is going on during the week and am in charge of taking notes during meetings and in charge of attendance. I also assist the president and her counselors organize events such as visit teaching brunches or other special activities.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Marisol
Members usually wear what we call our "Sunday best." Guys usually wear a button up shirt, with a tie, and slacks and girls usually wear a modest dress or skirt with a nice shirt. We celebrate the same holidays as those that are being celebrated in our region or country but the most important holidays to us would be Easter and Christmas because these two events celebrate the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
