Hi I'm Heather

I grew up in Alberta, Canada and Salt Lake City. I am a dancer and a pianist and I love to serve. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love dancing, playing the piano, and country music. Doing anything in the great outdoors makes me one happy girl. I am the oldest in a family of six girls and they are my favorite people in the world. I am currently attending Brigham Young University as a pre-nursing major. I have worked as a CNA and serving people like that was a wonderful experience. I went on a humanitarian trip to Fiji and built toilets for a village there and that was definitely one of the best experiences of my life. I absolutely love this gospel and I am so excited to go share it on my mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel brings me true peace and joy. It gives my life purpose and answers any and all questions that I have. Without the knowledge of my Savior Jesus Christ and His infinite Atonement I would be nothing. It gives me hope of redemption and helps me step out of the darkness when I fall and into the light. I am so grateful for constant guidance from our living prophet and apostles so I can know what the desire of the Lord is in these days. This Book of Mormon and the truths it teaches make me happier than I could ever be living without it. I know that my Heavenly Father lives and loves me and will guide me daily as I seek His help.

How I live my faith

I have served as the president of different Young Women's classes and I worked to organize activities and help assist girls in their progression in the gospel. I am a visiting teacher to a few girls that live in my dorm and I visit them monthly to share a gospel message and check up on how they are doing. I pray to my Heavenly Father multiple times a day and I read my scriptures every day. I work to become a kinder person every day and brighten the lives of others with the light of Christ that I have.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Not at all! For all worthy and able young men, it is a Priesthood responsibility to serve a full-time two year mission, usually at the age of 18 or 19. For women, it is a worthy option to serve at the age of 19 or older if she feels that it is right. All Mormons that are not full-time missionaries with a badge still desire to do missionary work and spread the gospel with others through their example and testimony. Show more Show less
