Hi I'm Robert

I like to travel, hike and I'm a Morman

About Me

I am a retired maintenance worker. My wife and I raised seven children who are grown and out on their own. From serving in the scouting program I gained an interest in camping and hiking. I enjoy teaching scouts how to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together. My wife and I are preparing to go on our second mission as military relations representatives. We will be serving soldiers on a military installation in Seoul, South Korea.

Why I am a Mormon

Years ago I found myself seeking answers to moral questions such as: How can someone live their life contrary to gospel principals and not be held accountable. Confessing a belief in Jesus Christ once during a persons life did not seem adequate to gain salvation. I eventually found myself living in Idaho Falls, Idaho with the help of the Salvation Army. Several weeks later two persevering missionaries knocked on my door. After several months of discussions, giving up some bad habits, fasting and prayer, I joined the Church. Learning the church is true and changing my life to conform with gospel teachings was a challenge. A couple years latter I met the right girl and married her after one date. That was fortyfour years ago. Since that time I recognize the blessings in my life are the result of adhering to gospel principals. I believe this is the only true church on the face of the earth and anyone who sincerely wants to know that for themselves can do so with the help of the missionaries and the Holy ghost.

How I live my faith

In the near future I'll be serving a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have enjoyed working with the youth as a scoutmaster learning and sharing outdoor skills. It has been rewarding to help people recognize the truths of the gospel and see them improve their lives through living gospel principles. I've learned to serve others through my church experience working on welfare farms picking fruits and vegetables and helping clean up after floods. I hope to leave an example for our children that will keep them close to the gospel..
