Hi I'm LeAnn

In North Dakota, my husband of 40 years, and I, raised seven children of our own, then helped with 25 foster youth.

About Me

My greatest desire in life was to become a wife and mother. Through my husband's and children's foreign travel, I have gained an appreciation for individuals in other lands. Cultural experiences assist personal growth. Education, I have learned, is vital for opportunity and personal growth. I earned a degree prior to marriage, then 35 years later continued this formal education. Experiences through foster parenting led me into the psychology field. In addition, I find great pleasure in working as a wife and mother. I was raised on a dairy farm and continued the work ethic gained as my own family grew. I enjoy gardening, food preservation, and baking. Oh, and I love doing the laundry! Reading to the children was a priority, now, as my grandchildren live far away, I send books to them. Love of reading seems to be a trademark of our family.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young girl, I imagined to have a personal connection with the heavens. I slept with my window open in order to look beyond the stars as I fell asleep. My pondering in those days led to the deep conviction that I have today that Heavenly Father is, indeed, my personal Father. The life, sacrifice and resurrection of my Savior, Jesus Christ is personal. He suffered for my sins, I can be forgiven and I will also be resurrected. He is my Elder Brother. The Holy Ghost has been ever present in guiding my life. I cannot deny His existence. The Earth was created to house all of us, for our progression. I love the Earth. The gospel of Jesus Christ is for all dispensations of time. It was necessary for this gospel to be available today. I know that Joseph Smith was the chosen Prophet to help our Savior to restore His truths and that we have not been left without Prophetic direction. Thomas S. Monson is our Lord's chosen mouthpiece today. Personally, I receive direction from Heaven through written scripture in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and from latter-day Prophets. I am grateful for these truths. As a result of my experiences with prayer, I have a deep testimony of the power of prayer and the power of faith.

How I live my faith

As a young adult, a goal and dream was realized when I served as a full-time missionary in the New England area of the United States. Marriage in the Logan Temple, then a house-full of children was another goal and realized dream. I have taught courses in home management in area communities. I have felt like a magnet for troubled women, as many have sought my advice and friendship. Teachings in my faith have been the outline I follow in serving others. I have formally taught youth religious courses, along with seeking out and serving women in need. I have made bandages and quilts for our church humanitarian projects.
