Hi I'm Joseph

I'm a high school student, runner, and singer. Born in Utah, I have been called to serve in England. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Utah, in the Salt Lake Valley, for almost my whole life with my family. I am the oldest of six children, and currently am serving a mission in the England London South Mission and am very excited to be sharing the gospel with and serving the people of England. In the high school, I was involved with the track team and have been a distance runner throughout all of high school. I am wasinvolved as a member of the madrigal choir. I love to do things outside in the beauty of God's creations such as running, biking, snowshoeing, and going hiking or exploring, especially to the tops of mountains. After my mission, I plan on going to Brigham Young University to study engineering. I am also excited to find someone after my mission to marry and to start a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

Being raised in the church by faithful parents, the gospel has always been part of my life. They led the way, but my commitment to this religion is deeper than merely tradition or the passing down of culture. I have come to know for myself that this church is true. The first time I finished the Book of Mormon on my own, I prayed to know if it was true and received an overwhelming confirmation from God through the Holy Ghost. Throughout struggles in my life, I have tried to do as I have been taught and turn to the Lord. He strengthened me to be able to get through them and showed me that they were a blessing in the end. Additionally, I have learned and studied much about the gospel. These teachings have made sense to my conscience, and I hold that our gospel is the only one that teaches to completely back up our conscience. Principles such as faith, hope, love, service, repentance, and family all resonate deep inside of me. As I have "experimented on the word" and tried to live my faith, I have been abundantly blessed by my Father in heaven with greater happiness and have learned for myself that these things are true. These results in my life are a testimony to me that this is the true church. It has brought me so much happiness: the gospel is truly the not-so-secret-secret to happiness. There are so many blessings the Lord has in store, most importantly that I may be able to become like Him someday if I stay true to the faith to the end. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I just left everything behind for two years to serve the Church as a missionary in England. I devote all of my time to preaching the gospel and bringing others to Christ. I love to share the joy the gospel brings with these people. I also strive to follow the example of my Savior by the way I live every day. I do my best to look for opportunities to serve others and to be kind to friends and family. I try to live up to a high standard of living as taught by the leaders of the Church by staying away from things I know to be wrong and making sure my conduct of behavior is in accordance with what I am taught.
