Hi I'm Lora Lee

I am a wife and mother, a Phlebotomist, a piano teacher, and I want to be a yoga instructor. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 30 years old and I currently have 2 small children and a husband. We were married civilly and then were sealed in the temple a little while ago. I am the oldest of 5 kids. I work part time as a phlebotomist and I teach piano for fun and a few extra dollars. My husband is in school part time working on getting his masters in bioregional panning. He also works full time as a planner for the county. I have no college experience but I plan on going one day. I love Yoga right now and want to dive into that more. I have done a lot of travel and have been to over 15 different countries. I speak some Spanish and want to learn Japanese. I play the piano and violin just for fun. I went to an alternative high school and loved it. I miss seeing my family who are all in Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since it was restored in the 1800's, so I am maybe a 6th generation Mormon. That doesn't mean everyone in my family believes or has been baptized or even attends church. I was baptized at age eight like any other child that has parents in the church, but I would say I was truly converted around the time I was in middle school as a young 13-14 year-old trying to find my place. I was always wanted to be cool and popular but i was actually teased a lot and it weighed me down pretty hard. I was always taught to pray and read the book of Mormon every single day so I did, through the hard times at school and the great times when I was on vacation with my family. I clung to prayer and I poured out my heart to My Heavenly Father daily as I sought direction and acceptance. I found it through Him and the teachings of my wonderful parents. I know I can ask My Father in Heaven anything and he will guide me if I let him. That is why I am a member of this church.

How I live my faith

I attend 3 hours of church weekly and I really enjoy teaching the sunbeams (3-4 yr-olds). My ward has over 12 of them and I share the responsibility with another woman. Last week we learned about birds and creepy crawlies and that Jesus made them and loves them all. I work with one other LDS person and we are trying to be better examples at work of what we stand for. We recently invited a friend of our to church. She is looking for a church to attend with her family so we'll see what happens. I am so afraid of being overbearing or pushy when it comes to sharing what I know about Jesus Christ...and when I think about it, it's the best news I could share with anyone.
