Hi I'm Philo

A loving devoted mother, law graduate and I am a Mormon

About Me

I came to live in the UK in my teenage. I am a mother of three as well as a housing professional and a law graduate and am a politician, currently setting up a supported housing project for young teenage mothers in my community. I devote my time to my family and I love being with people and helping them. My hobbies includes socializing meeting people from all works of life, cooking and entertaining, reading, dancing and traveling not to forget shopping. I was born into Anglican church but always felt there was something missing. I spent many years looking for that special thing missing in my life in different born again churches.. So I prayed and I searched until I found the Mormon's church on the internet...

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I found in this church the application of principles lay down for Christians by the Lord Jesus Christ. I feel the love and spirit of Jesus Christ among the members.. Studying the book of Mormon with the missionaries helped open up my spiritual mind, helping me to understand the reasons we are here on earth and the importance of Jesus death on the cross to pave ways for our return journey home to our heavenly Father. Attending the church meetings for the first time, I encounter a group of people who truly and honestly cared and showed me unconditional love.. I testify that the church of Jesus Christ of later days Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ and the book of Mormon is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.. My life has been renewed since I read the book of Mormon which gives the true account of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also testify that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. And I am grateful for the presence of the living prophets who work daily interceding for us. I enjoy my time teaching as a relief society member I think the missionaries represent the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ..

How I live my faith

Through online search on churches, I found this church.. I became baptized in November 2011 and have never looked back. The minute the missionaries stepped in my house, I felt the spirit of God and I knew I made the right choice... I got baptized in November 2011. My life has taken a turn for the best. I feel love and unity in this family of God and now understand the meaning of true love just as our Heavenly Father love us. I am now a Sunday school teacher and I am grateful for the opportunity and the calling. In love partaking in home visit teaching and also spending time with the missionaries and sisters..

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Jesus Christ taught that we must be baptized by immersion (Mark 16:16; 3 Nephi 11:21-26). He set the example Himself by being baptized to “fulfill all righteousness” (Matthew 3:15). We are baptized by someone who has God’s priesthood authority for the remission of sins. (Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16). We are also baptized to become members of the Church of Jesus Christ, and to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5). Through the ordinance of baptism, we make a promise, called a covenant, with God. We promise to accept Christ, to become His followers, and to keep His commandments to the end of our lives. In return, our Heavenly Father promises to forgive our sins and let us return to live with Him, provided we keep our covenants Show more Show less
