Hi I'm Jessica

I am from Utah. I am happy with my life. I am a Mormon. (:

About Me

I am a firm believer in the power of music. I am constantly singing and am even a member of an audition only choir at an LDS Institute in Utah. I have graduated from high school and am currently going to college, but will soon be taking a break from school to serve the Lord in the mission field. I have received my call. (: I am a voracious reader. I love animals and have many pets including dogs, cats, horses, chickens, other birds, and a burro (a type of donkey). I also enjoy hunting. I have hunted both big and small game. I prefer bow hunting to the use of a gun but have hunted with both. I am a peculiar person and have friends from all walks of life. I believe in the power of a smile and how one small act of kindness, even as simple as a smile, can turn the day or even the life of someone else around.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I love my beautiful mother who was faithful in going to church and bringing my younger brother and I to church when we were young regardless of the fact that she often came to church without the companionship of my father who is not active. The loving example of my mother, ward family, and friends has made me long for the love and blessings that a family that is centered upon the gospel of Jesus Christ, sealed together in the temple for time and all eternity. I love the Lord, he is my Savior and my Redeemer. He suffered, died, and was resurrected so that I might be able to live with my Father in Heaven again. I have seen the difference between a life that is centered upon the gospel of Jesus Christ versus one that has strayed from the path, or has never found the path. The difference is true happiness. A life that is led away from the Church may have happiness in it, but that happiness does not last. I have never been able to feel the overwhelming feelings of joy that I feel when I am doing the work of the Father, living faithfully and prayerfully, and am in tune with the promptings of the Spirit. This I say in the name of my Beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, the Son of my Heavenly Father, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently in a YSA ward (YSA = young single adult ward) and am a ward missionary in this ward. I have received my full time mission call and will leave in July to serve the Lord elsewhere in the States. In my choir, I have traveled to many different wards throughout Utah performing for, uplifting, serving, and inviting the Spirit of God into these people's lives. In my YSA ward, my partner and I visit teach three ladies, two of which are members and one who is a friend but not a member. Despite the fact that she is not a member and does not plan to become a member, this friend of my partner and I still feels of the Spirit that enters her home when we come to visit her, share a thought or a message with her, or just be friendly. I am an extremely friendly person. I always try to make new friends, help other people, get to know new people, and live in a way that is pleasing unto the Lord. In my home, only my mother is an active member. My father is inactive and my brother being somewhere between active and inactive. Despite the fact that they are not fully active, my father and brother are supportive of my mother and I as we strive to become closer to our Heavenly Father. It is my hope and believe that, as I trust in my Heavenly Father, both my father and my brother will become closer to Him and will come unto Christ so that my family might be able to be sealed together in the temple for time and all eternity. (:
