Hi I'm Emma

I was brought up in the church with my three siblings. I am a full time ophthalmic nurse. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was brought up in the church with my 3 siblings. Family means everything to me and I love spending time with them, hanging out, having fun and making memories :) I am a full time staff nurse, which I really love. I work in the eye department theatre and clinics. There is never a dull moment.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up by my parents in the church, but in my teens I started to question whether I wanted to continue to follow the faith my parents had brought me up in or not. I continued to attend church every week and serve where ever I was called to serve and soon my own faith developed. I found peace and contentment in the church. As I prayed to my Heavenly Father I felt that He was there and that He anwsered my prayers. I felt that this was the true church, it just made sense to me. Since then I have remained an active member and I love it. The church gives me hope, comfort, peace and confidence. I know Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are real and that they love me. I have had my prayers answered many times, which has further confirmed to me that they are aware of me personally. The church gives me a purpose. I know where I came from and where I want to go. I know this life is a test, where we can prove ourselves through trials and challenges and that if we live the best we can and endure to the end, we will be able to live with our Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as ward young women's president. We have 8 active girls aged between 12-17 and we provide weekly activites on wednesday nights and teach a lesson every Sunday. The activities are structured to help the girls achieve their life goals, have fun together and build lasting friendships. For the activities we may have career evenings, hobby/interest evenings, sports nights, service projects, cultural evenings and chill out times. The Sunday lessons are all centred on learning more about Jesus Christ and how we can apply His teachings to our lives. The church gives us opportunities to serve in all different capacities, which can at times seem a little overwhelming. But I really believe that Heavenly Father knows us the best and can see the bigger picture. I believe He will help me to achieve all I need to, in my calling. I love serving in the church and am thankful for all the blessings I recieve in my life by living my faith.
