Hi I'm Mckinzy

I'm a sister. I'm a daughter. I'm a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated with my associates degree and am now serving a mission as a representative of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love sports and played volleyball, basketball, softball, and cheered while growing up. I enjoy learning and plan on continuing college after my mission, though I don't know what major/career I want to pursue. Besides sports I really enjoy some of the arts, such as ceramics and photography. I also like planning, organizing, and just making things look good.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, but the older I get the more I understand and am grateful for the gospel. I have moved away from home and seen friends fall away from what they believe and I can see that it doesn't make them happy. In fact, I can tell they are unhappy even if they don't always see it or admit it. Besides the difference that I can see by observing others, I have really come to treasure the peace that this gospel brings, the love that I feel as I follow Christ, and especially the joy and peace it brings me to know that Heavenly Father has a plan specifically for me. As I pray to know and seek after the things he wants me to do, I have really developed a relationship with Him. I often feel His love surround me as I pray and pour out my heart to Him. His love is something that really helps me in life and I wouldn't want to trade that for anything.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in everything I do. I'm currently called as a missionary, so as such I am learning how to best fulfill my calling and help others to come unto Christ. I also am working on my own faith through scripture study, prayer, and striving to be obedient in all things. I have felt my faith increase as I diligently do these things and it increases my desire to continue strengthening my faith.
