Hi I'm Melissa

I grew up Idaho. I'm a 4 time state speech champion. I'm going on a mission to Arequipa Peru. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second of six children, making our family demographic five girls and one boy. I love to play volleyball, and played all though high school. I just finished my first year of college, and learned how to play the guitar. The Lord of the Rings are my favorite books. I have some of the cutest little sisters ever! I can't take notes in class without doodling in the margins. My best friend is on a mission in Australia, and I am preparing to serve a mission in Peru. Sometimes I'm on Pintrest for hours and don't even realize it. I have two dogs that have rocks for brains. I love my family and I love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I had the Gospel in my home from the time that I was born, I still had to gain a testimony for myself about the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and The Book of Mormon. When I was 14, I read through the book and got confirmation for myself that everything I had been taught was true, and have since stayed an active member. There is happiness here. There is peace. There are answers to questions of the soul. There is a worldwide support system. There are beautiful temples that dot the Earth that allow us to become closer to Him. This Gospel is true, and allows families to be together for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the church, and have loved this Gospel from the time that I was little! Even though there are standards in our church that don't conform to what is often popular, following these guidelines has brought me more peace, happiness, and freedom than anything else the world could offer. Knowing why I am here and where I am going has filled my life with purpose. Having personal integrity, keeping my language clean, dressing like my body is a temple, and serving others are some of the small ways that I live my religion. Simply put, trying to take the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ upon me, and trying to view His children like he does, with unconditional love and kindness, is my daily goal, and only with Him and through Him, can I come a little closer to achieving that. I will soon be a missionary, because it is a beautiful, beautiful Gospel that we have, and one that I must share, for knowing what happiness it brings me, I can't help but want to bring this happiness into everyone's life.
