Hi I'm Katie

I was born and raised in Utah. I'm a college student. I'm a missionary in Alabama. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the church, the oldest of four girls. From the beginning I recognized the joy of learning. I had the option of testing into an accelerated learning program at a nearby elementary school. I made it. I was challenged, but I worked hard and received acceptable grades. For nine years I was learning things that students several years my superior considered difficult. When I made it to high school I continued to challenge myself and take college classes simultaneously. I was inspired by a couple of friends, and on June 5, 2012, I received a high school diploma and an Associate's Degree at the age of 18. I am currently continuing my education at Utah Valley University. I love my extraordinary family and my stellar friends. I love watching Disney cartoons and search for the perfect mac and cheese recipe. It's my dream to work in Disneyland and to travel to all seven continents. I look forward to the future, especially the day when I get married, because what teenage girl doesn't think of that. I love my life, and I know adventures are the best way to learn, every day is a new adventure!

Why I am a Mormon

I come from several generations of members. My Schwendiman ancestors were converted and moved to this country to be closer to the church and it's leaders. I was born into an active family, but I still needed to find out for myself it's truthfulness. The moment I finally knew it was the most correct church it changed my life. My understanding and testimony has continued to grow and the Holy Ghost has confirmed it's true!

How I live my faith

I embrace the opportunities given me, because I know they are given of Him. I have been taught the importance of unconditional, Christ-like love. I participated as a leader in the Church youth program, serving others all over the neighborhood. I study the scriptures and try to apply and instill the characteristics that I need to be more like Him. I am grateful for miracles, and pray that I may see the benefits of my challenges. I now embark on an adventure to serve as a missionary for the church. I hope to be an example for the people that I serve and for my sisters back home.
