Hi I'm Madison

I was lost. Now through Christ I am found. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a village on Kodiak Island in Alaska. I love nature and to connect with all the beauty around me. I'm now a college student studying to obtain a Forensic Science degree, and could not be more excited about life.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a member of the Mormon faith because I have felt it change every facet of my being. I was baptized when I was eight, but I quickly decided that I did not believe in the church. I grew up in a village in Alaska where no one had heard of the LDS religion and my family alone was Mormon. My parents had my siblings and I have church every Sunday for 10 years in our living room with the Sacrament blessed and passed, and full classes. We also did Seminary every morning before school. Yet I had a deep depression and was breaking about every law of the church. After being on suicide watch for three years, I opened the scriptures one day and read Alma 36. I'm a Mormon because what I felt that day I could never forget. Since then, I have moved 4500 miles away to start a new life with new friends, new hopes, new dreams, and new opportunities where I could be around other members of the faith that I wanted to know more about. I sacrificed everything I had just for the chance to feel again what I had felt when I read those scriptures. What I began to learn, I could not deny was the infallible truth. My soul felt it, and it shook me to the core. I have felt my Savior's deep love for me as I struggled to change my life. I have felt heaven smile down on me and bless me even though I was such a horrible sinner. His light and love has made all the difference for me and has given me a second chance for a new life. I'm a Mormon because I have felt the Atonement of my Savior and I know, I know. That it is true.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily by showing an example of happiness and hope. I try to show people through example that there is happiness to be found in every circumstance in life, and that change is a very real and possible thing.
