Hi I'm Chance

My progenitors are examples of great faith. I know God and Jesus Christ live! I am a Mormon and proud of it!

About Me

I am a return missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I love being a member of this marvelous church! I love to be with people! I enjoy the feeling of being around people who are real and have a desire as well as me to be a Christ centered person. I am studying in the University and trying to balance my life with church, school, friends, finding a wife, scripture study, etc.. I cannot think of a thing to better explain me than to say that I love being friends with everyone. I don't want to be an enemy to anybody, and I will do anything that Christ would do to be a friend to all, especially those who see me as their enemy. I love the Lord and I will always put Him as my focus on life, so I can live with God and my family for forever and all eternity!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this Church because I have gained a testimony for myself that this is true. I know because I took Moroni's Challenge. For those who don't know what that means, it means I read the Book of Mormon, studied out in my mind the words and phrases from within its pages, and then I prayed to my Heavenly Father (who is God) and asked Him if he might help me to know that this book is true, and just like any true Father, He helped me to gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon. He did not give me the answer all at once, but rather helped me to see day by day, with every step I took, to begin to grow and see that the Book of Mormon is true. It came gradually. Never could I tell you of an experience when an angel visited me to tell me it was true, but I can say that many times have I felt that this book really is of God through small and simple ways. I was born in this church, but I had to gain a testimony just like everybody else! Oh how great is that!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in the best way I can, by trying. I cannot do anything perfectly, I am not better than anybody, and I know that! I love being able to know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ I can live my faith to the best of my ability without having the full stress of being perfect. Now I know that that does not exempt me from trying, because if I don't try I cannot receive any blessing, but the assurance that I can receive the kingdom of God without having to be perfect is a reason for me to keep trying to live my faith to the best of my abilities!

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Chance
The Savior sacrificed His life for us because He loved us. Lets put it into perspective. Imagine your own family of which you love. You would do anything for them. If your brother came into debt and was about to be cast out of his house, would you go and help him? Would you sacrifice your means to help your brother? The Savior Jesus Christ is perfect, and in His perfect love He would help His brother, and He did. He is our Mediator. He will help us, whether or not we want His help or not. He has paid the price for each of us, so we just need to accept His sacrifice and choose to love Him back. Show more Show less
