Hi I'm Jeff Giles

I'm from Salt Lake City, UT, I'm a college student, I love to snowboard, I love golf, I've always been a car guy, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I play golf, I love mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and baseball. I've been a member of the LDS church my whole life and have been blessed every day by my Heavenly Father. I love being outside! One of my favorite things to do is spend time with my family. They are some of my closest friends and we have the greatest times together. One thing that has been really cool is the fact that I'm the oldest child in my family! I have the awesome opportunity to watch all of my siblings and cousins grow up and progress. I think I learn from them more than they ever learn from me. Right now, I'm currently in my first year of college at Southern Utah University studying Business. I recently returned from my two year mission in the great Japan Kobe Mission and I miss it every single day!

Why I am a Mormon

An almost unexplainable feeling is present when you come to know that the church is true. I've witnessed so many blessings in miracles in my life that I link directly to the church. I can't say enough how comforting it is to know how to get back to my Heavenly Father some day and to be with my family for all eternity. I know that this church is true and that Joseph Smith restored it on the earth in the nineteenth century. I've read the Book of Mormon and can testify of its truthfulness. So many questions of mine have been answered simply by picking it up and reading. I know that Thomas S. Monson is truly a prophet on this earth today and I'm so grateful for him, his willingness to serve, and his spirit. I love this church and want to share it with everyone!

How I live my faith

I hope I live it every day. As I get older and my understanding of life gets a little deeper, I'm beginning to understand just how important it is to have a belief in something. I live my faith by trying to be an example of Jesus Christ in all that I do. I have been blessed by great parents, who taught me how to be more like Christ. As a missionary, I taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ every day for two years and that was one of the greatest things I have done in my life so far! The gratifying thing about the gospel isn't just in living it ourselves, but through sharing the blessings we receive with others so they can experience them too. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints really is the Lord's church on the Earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I read and pray about it daily. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and the Gospel was restored by God to the Earth through him.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Jeff Giles
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, our Father in Heaven. I believe that Jesus Christ was chosen by God in the pre-mortal life to come to earth as God's only Son in the flesh. He came to show us an example of how we can return to live with God when our time on Earth is over. He Atoned for the sins of the world so that all of us, through repentance and baptism, can receive Eternal Life! If we believe that he is truly the Son of God, then we will develop a desire to follow and be more like him in our own lives. We have the chance in the church to be baptized, just like Jesus was, and become clean from sins or mistakes that we've made in our lives. Christ is the Son of God, and continues to live today!
