Hi I'm Nolan

I'm enrolled in law school. I speak fluent Portuguese. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently in my last month or so of my first year of law school. This is the biggest thing I'm currently involved in and takes up most of my time. Once summer hits, I hope to have some time, not only to spend with my wife, but also to take up woodworking and continue playing guitar. Music has been my past-time and hobby since High School. Woodworking is a recent discovery born from a desire to make our home our own.

Why I am a Mormon

While it is true that I was born into the church, I have a testimony of my own that this is the church of Christ. Knowing that we have a prophet on the Earth today who leads and guides us in accordance with the will of God helps me to find truth in a world full of voices clamoring to be heard. The gospel gives me peace and teaches all of us what happened before this life, the purpose of life, and what is to come after. There is no satisfaction and hope like knowing that there is life after death and that we will see our loved ones again.

How I live my faith

My current calling in the church involves teaching an early morning scripture study class for high school aged kids. The calling, at first, seemed a little daunting (Getting up at five every morning to teach high schoolers is a little scary!) but as I started, I found it to be an incredible way to start off my day. The spirit that these student's have, in addition to the opportunity I've had to teach and study the scriptures with them, makes me look forward to each morning I get to spend with them. I think I learn more from them than they do with me!
