Hi I'm Kathryn

I am a wife, mother of six, grandmother of 24. Besides my passion for my family, I love Photography! I am a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Southern California in a wonderful neighborhood where the trees made a beautiful archway of our street. After high school I attended college in Utah. I fell in love with and married a young man in my neighborhood. We were married in the Los Angeles Temple. We moved to Utah where together, we raised our family of six children. My husband and I, along with our six children served a LDS mission in Mexico for three years. Now that my children are grown and married, I spend my time keeping up with my 24 grandchildren, amateur photography, interior design, reading, church service and traveling. I'm happiest when I witness growth in myself and my family. I love serving, I'm passionate for my family. I love their individuality. I'm grateful to be aging with the man of my dreams.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because at a very early age, I felt the Spirit of the Lord touch my heart with the truth. As I heard the word of God taught, something inside of me whispered, this is the truth. I was born into the Church, but at some point I had to find out for myself if this was really the true church. After much prayer, study and contemplation, I was filled with a mighty impression that caused me to experience complete joy and peace. I knew for myself, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior, my Redeemer and He came into this world to give us the ultimate gift. He gave us all a way back to live with our Heavenly Father. I know He has suffered all my pain, trials, discouragements and heartaches. I am a Mormon because it has given me all the answers, all the happiness and all the enlightenment that I need to live a faith filled life on this earth.

How I live my faith

In our ward I am currently serving as the Compassionate Service Leader, which means I need to keep track of the physical and emotional needs all those in our Ward boundaries. There are many issues with the Elderly, those suffering from physical or mental illnesses, those suffering from loss or accidents. I use the other women in our Ward to organize each woman with a set of Visiting Teachers to visit them monthly to determine their individual needs. Some may need help with their children, some may need meals, some may need visits due to loneliness, some may need help with housework, yard work or with errands for those who are house bound. I love this calling because I have met so many women who are unable to leave their homes. They have touched my heart more than I could have imagined. I thought I was serving them, but it turned out, they have served me.
